News24 Elections 2014 website design
December 2013 – April 2014

Brief: Design the 2014 South African elections website. Design solution: Using a fresh but neutral colour palette (in order to avoid party colour conflicts), I designed a set of modular page designs where content blocks could be switched on and off via the News24 CMS, allowing the writers to arrange the page content according to their needs within a strict design template defined to maximise visual impact and readability across all devices. Map pages were laid out to allow users to scrub through visual representations of IEC voting information and past results.

Brief: Design the Sport24 World Cup 2014 website. Design solution: Applied PET design principles by using colours from the official logo, as well as a striped light/dark green theme to mimic a freshly mowed pitch. Fresh, vibrant colours throughout to enhance this festival of football.

Brief: Design Popular Mechanics youth site. Design solution: Present information in bite-sized chunks, large images, catchy headlines; inspired by Windows 8 and news aggregator sites like Pulse.me. This grid layout has since become all the rage for information-heavy websites, eg. Mashable
